We have a little thumb sucker, once he finds his thumb he can be content for at least 20-30 min. You should hear the sounds that he makes too. I can hear him from down the hall just sucking on that thumb.
I try that pacifier and he does not like it, he will take it sometime when he is yelling because he is so tired but other than that he spits it right back out. Oh God, I hope he is not still sucking his thumb at 8, that will not be good. I just seen a little girl maybe 4 in the store with a pacifier in her mouth talking. I wanted to ask the mom why she still had it.

Have you tried encouraging a pacifier instead of his thumb? You think it is cute now, but wait until he is like 8 and still doing that in public!!! :)
